Morning session at Woodland Sanctuary -
Trophy trout behavior, tactics, tackle, best flies,
casting instruction, retrieves, fighting big fish and more.

Afternoon session on the Au Sable – float trip, two students per guide

8:30 AM – Welcome, coffee and rolls.

· Nature and behavior of trophy trout

· Reading the water

9:00 AM – Flies

· Shape and action

· Size and color

9:45 AM - Equipment

· Rods and reels

· Lines and leaders (we will build a streamer leader with you)

10:15 AM – Move to trout pond

· Casting and retrieves

11:30 AM – Lunch break (on your own)

12:45 PM – Meet your guide at the fly shop

· On the water – in depth instruction and coaching

· Snacks and soft drinks provided

· You should be off the water by 6:00 PM
